Born in Canicattini in 1948 Salvatore emigrated to Hartford in 1966.
A well known and capable soccer player both in Canicattini and in Hartford Sal played primarily with two teams back home: Don Bosco and San Francisco. His teammates included well known players like Pippo Cavalieri, Nuccio Uccello, Nuccio Bucchieri, Santino Raeli e Pippo Vasquez.
In Hartford Sal played for the Italian American Stars in the 66-67 season and again from 1968 to 1974. They won several State championships.
After his arrival in the USA ( came with his parents, his father had a brother here who initiated the legal process of emigration) Sal did a number of jobs before obtaining a license as commercial painter, work that he would carry out for over 40 years until about a year ago!
Sal and his wife have two children and two grand children!
